Its quite evident theres no quality checks before packaging. Poor quality! Large metal burrs on drilled portholes! This make cleaning the brake a bit of a pain, though this may be my fault for leaving the brake on when I clean. My only gripe is that there are metal burs left over from the machining process in the ports.

Of course its still loud for nearby shooters, but definitely not as bad, they wont hate you for shooting with this. But I shot this while only wearing my earplugs and honestly, the gun actually sounded quieter for the shooter. I was very worried that getting a muzzle brake would make the gun sound relatively louder for the shooter, Im quite sensitive to loud noises, and normally I wear both earplugs and headphones.
#BEST MUZZLE BRAKE FOR 6.5 CREEDMOOR INSTALL#
I like that the jam nut made it super easy to install out of the package. I purchased this for my Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor and the felt recoil change is definitely noticeable. It doesn’t give accuracy on the 6.5 because its bored for 30 caliber not 264. Poor quality ,drill burrs are horrible! Went from groups touching to 2 inch groups at 100 yards! Since I can’t send it back I’ll have to deburr it and try again. I own a ballistics lab and tested this item on my 6.5 predator. Put this on a TC Compass 6.5 Creedmoor and noticed absolutely zero difference in noise, recoil or accuracy.īrake works much better on 308 which it is made for. Just shot a 3/8 100yard 3 shot group, nice! Can you print recoil reduction numbers and sound pressure levels at the shooters ear? It does not seem to elevate sound very much unlike most other brakes that increase sound dramatically. My Ruger 308 Hawkeye Precision rifle with the new Ruger break kicks like a 243 even with 168 gr HPBT ammo! I am very impressed with your muzzle break design.

Slight point of impact shift with/without brake, but accuracy not adversely impacted. Felt recoil reduction is major and sound levels are not bad at the firing line. The one on my rifle is cleanly manufactured and finished.
#BEST MUZZLE BRAKE FOR 6.5 CREEDMOOR PLUS#
Six plus decades of shooting and a good deal of experience with brakes. Good quality and effective reduction in recoil Its an effective enough brake for 308 and 7.62x39 and I like the easy-clock jamnut design but for $100, I honestly expected a little more fit and finish. Ruger sent me a prepaid label to ship back for replacement and the one I got threads on fine but still has razor sharp burs. Terrible burs on the cross drilled holes too.

The first one I got had a bad spot on the threads and obviously would not thread onto host. I like that it uses a jam nut instead of a crush washer to time the brake. I have 2 of these brakes, both are installed on rifles chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. Pulled off my rpr to run suppressed, put the hybrid on a kel tec rfb and it helps tremendously with recoil and noise I am most likely going to have to send the gun back to Ruger.
